CIRCUS TENT FOR RENT "GRAND ERECTION!"- May 20th, 2013

Over the long weekend, the Circus Orange team had the opportunity to raise our authentic, two-masted circus tent for the very first time! An exciting day-long event, the whole neighbourhood came out to help us make this dream of ours a reality. We know - tents and pyro don't necessarly mix. We will be offering this tent as a rental venue and we plan to build a scaled down cabaret show for it too.

PYRO BAGPIPER - May 10th, 2013

On May 10th we teamed up with The Toronto Bagpiper and Danger Boy to create an all new hybrid act called the Pyro Piper. What is a Pyro Piper you ask? Well, it is pretty much just what it says – a bag pipe act combined with a boat load of pyrotechnics. It is a little bit crazy for sure but we had fun doing it and, who knows, maybe it is an act that will catch on.

This is one of those cases where we had to be very careful because we were combining pyrotechnics with weird things like bear skin hats and irreplaceable bagpipes. We thought it turned out pretty good.

CORONA BANFF FOGSCREEN® EVENT - April 4th, 2013

Last month we finished a great show with our partners at Danger Boy, and their new FogScreen®, out in Banff, Alberta. The event was called Snow Tracks for Corona, and it was basically a big DJ party in a club. The guests were winners of a contest Corona had online and it was actually a really great party and the DJs were awesome. Lots of old school tunes!

There were ice sculptures, a buffet, great DJ’s, awesome lighting, and of course, our FogScreen®. In this case the FogScreen® was placed over an entranceway where people move from one part of the club to the other. It was a great use of the screen as it made the clientele walk right through corporate branding for the event. The photographer set up right in front of the screen and took pictures of people all night long as they played in the screen.

NASHVILLE NORTH BARRIE Indoor Zip Line Stunt - March 30th, 2013

Recently Circus Orange, and the crew at Danger Boy, got to do an awesome stunt for the grand opening of Nashville North in Barrie, Ontario. This is a new country bar built in the old Roxx Theatre, so the building and stage had some terrific potential for theatrics.

We rigged a special stunt zip line from the upper level to the back of the stage and dressed two of our stunt performers as crazy cowboys for the gag. Right at midnight the manager, a big burly dude in a huge overcoat came out on stage for a big announcement. Part way through his speech he “noticed” two ne’er do wells on the upper level. This was in fact our two stunters dressed up in cowboy duds. They were supposed to represent guys from the other country bar in town. Once the audience was looking the right way they came flying down the zip line and crashed right into the manager initiating a choreographed fight scene that culminated in the manager shooting both of our baddies and dragging them off stage while announcing to the screaming crowd, “Barrie – there is a new sheriff in town”.

This stunt was a lot of fun and a good example of how we can work in even relatively small venues and create really fun, original stunts. Thanks to Kitt and everyone at Nashville North for having us and we wish you the best of luck with your endeavor.

CORONA COLOURED SMOKE EVENT In Toronto, ON - May 31st, 2013

This coming Friday we will be working with Corona again creating a dramatic colored smoke effect for their promotional event in Yonge-Dundas Square.
